[Typo3-linux] imagegif error

Hello, i installed everything and it didnt gaved me any error but when i run the test pages i got this error on the left frame 
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in /home/inhoste/public_html/typo3/t3lib/class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php on line 1405

any sugestion what it might be? thanks
