[Typo3-linux] Open Stream Problem

Downloaded the linux distribution to my local computer and then uploaded it
to a server. The installation process went very well! The back end admin
tool now loads correctly and all the tests pass in the install tool (maybe a
limitation of file uploads 2m?). The problem comes when trying to view the
site I get an error message:

Warning: main(../init.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
in /home/markn/public_html/testsite-3.5.0/index.php on line 51

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../init.php'
(include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in
/home/markn/public_html/testsite-3.5.0/index.php on line 51
