[TYPO3-install] Newbie: localconf.php is not found!

Hi Michael,

Thanks you're absolutely right ! I've unzipped in a single directory and 
get the 123 tool ! Matthew is right too in the sense that unzipped files 
  and directories don't tend to have the correct unix permissions.

I got several warning messages and figured out I didn't have 777 rights 
in typo3temp and fixed those, but I get this message just before the 123 
tool, do you know what it means ?

Warning: mysql_list_tables(): supplied argument is not a valid 
MySQL-Link resource in /home/www/web/ssai/t3lib/class.t3lib_db.php on 
line 967

Thanks and sorry for being such a lunk, as I did not RTFM properly !
