Es gibt natürlich URI's, die keine E-Mailadressen sind sondern den user 
per @ vorne anhängen, im TSref heißt es jedoch: If a "@" is in the 
string, it's an email

Die einzige Möglichkeit wäre dann also ein xClass oder eine anwendung 
des Hooks 
$GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['SC_OPTIONS']['tslib/class.tslib_content.php']['typoLink_PostProc'] 
müsstest Du mal prüfen, ob das möglich ist.
