[TYPO3-german] mailformplusplus - trotz required geht Formular leer los

Hallo,
wichtige label sind wie folgt definiert:

<label>###firstname### ###required_firstname###</label>

Das passende TS:

                    firstname {
                        errorCheck.1 = required
                        errorCheck.2 = maxLength
                        errorCheck.2.value = 50
                    }

Dennoch lässt sich das Formular unausgefüllt abschicken.

Woran könnte es liegen?
