Ich wollte gerade schon sagen, ein "not a valid MySQL Link" weist in PHP
immer drauf hin, dass das mysql_(p)connect fehlgeschlagen ist, ganz
Typo3 unabhängig.

Aber gut, wenn es jetzt gelöst ist ;)

Nur eine Frage noch, wie hast du das jetzt mit dem Port gemacht? Geht es
mit hostname:port? Oder hast du einfach den Port weggelassen?
