[TYPO3-english] l10n_mode = exclude in TYPO3 8 - good to use with FAL?

In extbase under TYPO3 8.7,  can l10n_mode = exclude 

as documented on https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/TCAReference/Columns/ColumnsL10nMode.html?highlight=l10n_mode

be used reliably, also with FAL fields?
