I don't think this is a good solution. There are much more complex scenarios out there then having a "mobile view"... 
I think a good way could be to create a custom element "spacer" where you can exactly define how it behaves on what kind of output/screensize aso. So you can even half the space on tablet, remove it on phone, enlarge it on print - or whatever.

What do you think about that?
