[TYPO3-english] Caching in TYPO3

Hi all,

I am working on very large website which contains many number of pages and records. At present we are facing a very huge performance issue. When I investigated this , I saw the table "cf_cache_pages" were empty. Does this affects the performance of the website. How I would check , which all pages are indexed and which all are not indexed ? How I can improve the performance of a TYPO3 website ?
