[TYPO3-english] Start Page-tree with link or with content page

Hi,

traditionally, a page-tree starts with a root-page that is a link to a
start-page somewhere else in the page tree:

New Typo3 Site
|__root-page (= link to start)
   |__start
   |__more pages

Is there any reason, why the root page does not contain content? You
could start as well like this:

New Typo3 Site
|__start (contains content)
  |__more pages

Are there any drawbacks in this solution?
