I assume you have all the options active to allow linking across domains.

The sad truth is that nested domains still do not work flawlessly. 
Dmitry posted [1]; so the conclusion is that things might work (you're 
in luck) but that it can also fail to work. Advice is still to have all 
domains at the root level.
