Basically it has been decided that the EM (at least the "standard" EM)
should not have that kind of functionality since it targets
administrators and not developers.

So unless this changes (should be discussed and agreed), we should
better think of either extend existing EM with signals, ... as I just
did or maybe create a full replacement EM for developers (ideally
"inheriting" from current EM).
