[TYPO3-english] symbolic links - symlinks

In the guide ‘TYPO3-v6-2-whats-new.pdf’ it says:

The following symbolic links must exist:
typo3_src
typo3
index.php
(points to TYPO3 source directory) (points to directory: typo3_src/typo3) (points to 
le: typo3_src/index.php)

How do I create those symlinks on my webproviders server? It’s a Linux server. I have FTP access to the server.
