Actually there is no reason to include a fully fledged GIFBUILDER when 
the only thing you want to do is to resize images. GIFBUILDER should be 
used to combine different images with geometrical shapes and/or text, 
the rest can be done with the appropriate width, height, maxW, maxH, 
etc. settings of typoscript imgResource.
