True but not I don't agree 100%. This file contains the last update
timestamp *and the format of the documentation*. TER does not show a
detail view for previous versions of an extension (or I missed it
completely) and as such having only the latest info is not that bad.
At worst, when a new version is uploaded and the manual not yet
rendered, the link will be dead but should show an Apache page
suggesting to use an older version of the doc and this will only last
for a couple of hours.
A real problem though is that people may have bugs in their
documentation (invalid directory structure, wrong "index" file,
references to files outside the authorized doc directory, ...) and this
may happen for newer versions when it "worked" for a previous one,
leading to manuals that are not rendered and people wonder why, we
should enhance this, hopefully during our Documentation sprint.
