I replaced with the line you wrote ; there is no more error in the error log, but the new opened window now contains :

    Not Found
    The requested URL /typo3/mod.php was not found on this server.
                    
That's strange, I checked and /typo3/mod.php exists... maybe an other problem ?
                    
By the way, how did you know the replacement for my problematic line, is there somewhere a a 6.x extension migration guide, or is it because of your extension development experience ?
I found the "TYPO3 6.0 extension migration tips", but it's only about replacement of deprecated functions ; and I don't remember something talking about replacement of browse_links.php inside the 6.x release/technical notes.
