If you take a closer look, you wil see it's all there:

The Graph starts with thee green phase of TYPO3 6.2 which lasts until 
2015 and is continued with an orange phase until 2017. It ignores 4.5, 
but IMHO that is OK, since support ends in March.

On top of that you can see the different steps on the road to 7 LTS and 
8LT. And as you can see you can even skip one LTS release and go from 
6.2 to 8.x later on, which is what has been clearly communicated as well:

So the people who are in charge already did a good job explaining the 
new release cycles. Now the question is: What could be improved to have 
less people, who never saw these detailed explanations when it comes to 
a new release?
