For most of the fields, there is a 'clear' option, that enables checkbox, which clears the value of fiield. So, you may clear your child page record and inherit value from parent.

But there is an issue, which still may lead to a problem, that child page inherits and saves a value of parent page, even with 'clear' checkbox previously turned on.

I've opened once a bug request on Github page [1], which was related to version 7.0. Mybe, this is not more a case in 7.1, so you may try.
