I never have used it but I remember that there is a setting for 
cookie-domain.
maybe you have a setting in your localconf.php which points to the 
old/original domain.
As you have a new server the domain could not be the same and cookies 
can't be set across domains.
for test you may remove any cookie-domain settings.
