[TYPO3-english] Select-Boxes in BE

Thanks for your suggestions. 

I have found the following solution (might be interesting for somebody...):

In table tags, I added label_alt=category and label_alt_force=true. So all tags are shown in BE with their respective categories added. Via a BE-search-field the customer can reduce the tags to those from one category, just by typing the first letters of the category into the search field.

Hi,

You may try to use tree renderMode of select list [1].
Since you already want to group tags by categories, you may use some tags as parent categories for child tags and disallow selection of them in BE by 'nonSelectableLevels' config.
