Yep.

6.2 introduced a flexible way for the community to come up with 
"distributions" that can extend a naked instance to a full blown 
preconfigured website. The new "introduction distribution" can be 
installed after 6.2 installation already, it is the first package in 
this area. We're expecting more to evolve here. With the removal of the 
static_templates extension and the introduction of hooks and other 
functionality, the core also gives a path for extension authors to step 
in with themes.

Currently, the "ext:themes" movement lead by Jo Hasenau is steering into 
this direction, there was a successful startnext funding, I'm really 
looking forward to its outcome.
