[TYPO3-english] 6.1.1: Images are not being rendered

I recently installed version 6.1.1 of TYPO3; everything works fine except for the rendering of images.

* Uploading of images works fine.
* So does adding images to pages.
* The images also show up in the sys_file table.

However, the respective HTML is not being rendered...

FYI: On the same server, an installation of TYPO3 6.0.4 runs without the problems mentioned above.
