[TYPO3-english] Flexform vs. setup question

Hi,

I've got a question concerning flexform vs. Setup settings. By default 
flexform fields override setup fields of same name, which is good. Would 
be even better if they wouldn't do it if empty. Now imagine following 
situation. I would like to have a checkbox in setup. If checked, 
flexform values shall be allowed to override setup fields (this part is 
easy). If not checked and a flexform is still needed for other 
per-plugin settings, the flexform should only show the fields with no 
"defaults" from setup. Are there any hidden gems in Extbase to allow 
flexforms in a structure depending on certain other settings?
