Well I am not high status but I did ask Github, they replied what I wrote here.
Here is the reply from Github:
We use a set of open source tools to handle programming language support at GitHub. For us to do syntax highlighting, the language needs to be supported by Pygments.
In order to request Typoscript support you could open an issue in their tracker: http://bitbucket.org/birkenfeld/pygments-main/issues or contribute a patch yourself: http://pygments.org/contribute .
Then, in order to be used in GitHub and gists you need to submit the language to linguist. Check it out at https://github.com/github/linguist
The way we accept new languages is through pull requests.
So this is why I ask... Thanks pgampe I'll look into that this evening!
