Hi Gabriel,

if you don't have a urgent reason to deactivate the dbal extension, don't do it. Most extensions 
which are coded according to the TYPO3 coding guidlines need the abstraction layer, because they use 
the dbal-functions for there queries. If you don't want to use dbal for some reason, just don't call 
the regarding functions in your extension but let it activated.
