[TYPO3-english] typoscript multi language menu with icons

Hi

I'm creating a menu on a multi language site and I would like to display 
an icon for each menu item.
Im using the pages media field for this and wonder if there is a method 
for fetching the icon for the original page if the translated page has 
no icon attached.

Something like:

file.import.field = media // [media from original page]

Any help is appreciated
