thanks for the hint - the error i described is slightly different from 
the one in the bug report.

therefore it took me quite a while to figure it out that it was DAM and 
nothing else (cooluri, templavoila, crawler etc.pp.). i even updated the 
version of TYPO3 to find out, what goes wrong. in the end it took me 3 
weeks to nail down the update of DAM as responsible for this odd behaviour.
