Many thanks for the hind. I will give it a try as soon as the dev fixed the 
subpath bug.

BTW this is one of the most common bugs in TYPO3 extensions ... together 
with
* hardcoded labels
* hardcoded fileadmin path
* no API functions for DB stuff
* no API for link building
