2) i would stay away from t3blog.. you'll get into too complicated 
things to deal with

i would suggest you or to start "small" with "news" extension (it's 
going to take over onto the "maybe no more updated old" tt_news.. maybe 
you can help improving it in next months (it is really well lead 
developed by George Ringer).. and studying it you'll get to know how 
Extbase & Fluid works

the only other possibility is to integrate WordPress
