You can put TYPO3 in maintenance mode -this would hide both sides
Or
You simply create another Rootpage with own template (could use the same like the real page but has no subpages - so no menu). This page you can put anywhere in your Typo3 installation when you create domain records to redirect to your root pages
Or
You put it as first page in your Typo3 than the domainrecord is not needed as this page always get called when no domain record gets found in your pagetree.

To hide the rest of the site, the second folder is a SysFolder that is hidden. I drag all the sites of the website into that SysFolder.

>> @Philipp: I'd like to add my 2 cents to your answer: In my opinion these kind of answers are of no help to anyone. To be honest: I don't even know why you bother to take the time to write RTFM? Obviousley you seem to get angry by questions like these, but I ask you: why don't you just ignore them? And a link to a tutorial is not a specific answer. But the list should be a place for specific answers.

If, however, someone decides to post an answer, stick with the topic and restrain from any patronizing off-topic behaviour. There are beginners and there are pros - and the latter one need to remember that they where once beginners, too.
