Shameless plug for own extension (well, I only wrote the wrapper and the 
styling): you could try t3adminer [1]. It embeds the Adminer [2] 
database tool as BE module. It's a lot smaller than phpMyAdmin and also 
supports the other DBMS which DBAL supports. Styling matches the TYPO3 BE.
