[TYPO3-english] Editing long text content not being saved.

Hi All

We got several content element with pretty long text. When we edit, its not
saving the changes.
Could you please give me some solutions

 1. Either to alert Users that "Content not saved"
 2. Increase mysql column type from medium text to blob?
I am using Typo3 4.4.9
