Maybe this was my problem, Riccardo? I was using The Unarchiver, which prompts for a selection of filename encoding from a long list, but I left it on the default, Western (ASCII), because I don't understand this issue.  I "solved" it by using Stuffit Expander instead, which does not require any selection, and the unstuffed code had no errors, so I tried applying it again. My site is now working fine with TYPO3 v4.4.8, v4.5.2 and v.4.5.3
