my way on big sites is
1.) create a backupsite
2.) in this first extensions update
3.) core to next minor version 4.3.11  >> 4.4.8  >> 4.5.3
4.) then i have e look at the extensions again and translating
5.) maybe switch over the live domain or do there the same
