[TYPO3-english] Margins for Content Elements cannot be set in BE

Hi all,
Before Typo 3 4.5.x it was possible to set the margins between content 
elements. This was set on the first tab in the BE.

Since 4.5.x this functionality has been moved to the 'Appearance' tab.

When I set such margins in the 'Apperanance' tab - 'Content Element 
Layout', e.g. Bottom-Margin, the margins are not recognized and 
displayed in FE. I am using css styled content and have my own css file.
What css definition controls this input?

Any help apperciated as I have been looking around the web for a 
solution without success. Many thanks, Stefan
