you you want to include a slideshow into a news..
i really suggest you to look at the shiny new  
http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/yag/current/
+ http://typo3.org/extensions/repository/view/yag_ttnews/current/

(i've worked with it the whole day.... it's huge!
(i was used to smoothgallery.. but it's a bit unmainteined, and use  
mootools)
(please don't blame me if you'll have more problems with yag than with  
smoothgallery ! :)
