[TYPO3-english] indexed search problem

Hi,

There is this one site (which I inhereted to admin from someone else) where the indexed_search is acting a bit strangely: it indexes the same word in the same page ONLY if it is in a new content element. If the excactly the same word is added to an existing content element, it doesn't get indexed. What could cause this?
