[TYPO3-english] DBAL & PostgreSQL

I think I found it...

The subtitle field has an empty eval configuration in
typo3/sysext/cms/ext_tables.php. When I set this to 'trim' the problem does
not occur.

It seems like an input field (string) with no eval configuration is send as
a Boolean false, which results somehow in the value 'als' in the database.
Am I correct that this is a bug in TYPO3? I would say that an empty
inputfield should post an empty string, and should not be presented as
false...

Hi Xavier,

I did also set those :p I just did some more testing, and for now it seems
to be only the subtitle field, I do not get this error on the navigation
title or author for example. So I think it's specific to this field...

The field type in the database is:
character varying (255), NOT NULL, default ''::character varying which is
exactly the same as the nav_title field

Just wanted to post this because I've to go now, and maybe this is of use
during testing :-)

given value.

This is valid although we suggest to use the normal $typo_db_username and
other variables to give credentials:

$typo_db_username = 'user';
$typo_db_password = 'password';
$typo_db_host = 'localhost';
$typo_db = 'database';

Leaving only driver (and port in your case) in the DBAL config. But that's
not the point.

I don't have a clue yet but will test it, probably tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Regards
