As other guys mentioned already, there is no need for a fork if the 4 branch is well maintained.
I'm personally very happy with the way it works and as others i'm willing to make it even better, what JoH showed us about Grid View is a good example of how it could improve (by the way JoH did you get my last email sent about a week ago?)

Nevertheless i might be as well very happy with the way v5 works and i'm looking forward to see it come to life.
