[TYPO3-english] tt_news and XHTML-strict

Dear all,

I certainly missed something but I do not succeed to validate in 
"XHTML-strict" a page containing the tt_news plugin with LATEST view. 
Indeed there are target="_top" in the links generated.

However, in my the constant part of the template, I have:
# We want absolutely no target attribute as it is not XHTML-strict
# compliant and I really don't like new windows (_blank target)!

PAGE_TARGET =
styles.content.links.extTarget =
styles.content.links.target =

Any advise would be appreciated.
