[TYPO3-english] Language Condition

I just came to know that conditions should not be written inside braces. Is
this true?
Then how do I specify a condition inside braces.
I have the code as below:

temp.mainTemplate {
  subparts.topmenu.5 = HTML
  subparts.topmenu.5.value = My home page
}

Now how can I show the translated for spanish language??
Please help..
