Yes, this was probably even older feature, in 4.1 and older.. I have 
missed it since then :(

It's really odd to explain to the customers why the first news record 
can't be created with the Page module but after that it is. The List 
module - though so powerful - isn't really "inviting" or easy to 
approach for a beginner (who would anyway love to use only the View module).
