[TYPO3-english] RealURL - Exclude From Speaking URL Option - Am I misunderstanding?

I may be clearing the cache incorrectly, but what I tried was this:

Page Module > Product Range Page >  Tick "Exclude from speaking URL" -> Save
Web Module > Info > Speaking URL Management > Decode cache   -> Delete
all entries
Web Module > Info > Speaking URL Management > Encode cache   -> Delete
all entries
Typo3 Toolbar -> Clear all caches

I then visited "http://www.domain.com/buttons" in the hope it would
regenerate the cached entries in their short form. The URL worked (As
in, the page loaded correctly etc.) but the site links all still
included the URL section I had selected to exclude, EG  :
"http://www.domain.com/product-range/buttons"

Just in case it was the result of too little sleep, I will repeat the
process at lunchtime!
