Hi,
it may be a windows-problem.
Normal Charsets have a gap between ASCII and ANSII signs.
In (windows-)charsets normally used in windows the gap is used for some
special signs and also for the pound-sign. Sometimes the Number for the
real UTF-8 Code of the sign seems not being translated correctly from
the windows-code-Number.
I had this problem with the "En Dash" (UTF-8: 2013, windows: [ALT]+0150)
