[TYPO3-english] GIFBUILDER and TrueType fonts (problem with national signs)

I'm using Type1 (PFB) fonts with GIFBUILDER and it renders the text 
almost correctly, the only problem is with national (Polish) signs, they 
are just not rendered... Of course the font library contains proper 
signs as I use the same font file in DTP and other tasks...

Is that any workaround for this topic, or should I just search for other 
fonts for the implementation ?
