[TYPO3-english] error on TYPO3 element browser

hey there,

first of all, i´m posting this because i´m not sure where to post this 
in the bug tracker. but it can´t be wrong to have others reproduce this 
error before posting aynway.

i made a fresh install of T3 4.4.1 and added a few extensions (for the 
record: eu_ldap, realurl, fl_realurlimage). then i wanted to build a 
clean template setup where i include "basis templates" from a sysfolder 
when this error hit me in the TYPO3 element browser window that pops up 
after clicking the folder icon next to "Include basis template":

PHP Catchable Fatal Error: Argument 2 passed to 
t3lib_iconWorks::getSpriteIconForRecord() must be an array, null given, 
called in /var/www/typo3_src-4.4.1/typo3/class.browse_links.php on line 
1922 and defined in 
/var/www/typo3_src-4.4.1/t3lib/class.t3lib_iconworks.php line 735


it showed up after i accidentally clicked the red arrow icon next the 
installation root (the TYPO3 logo uid=0). is there a record type on root 
that is not conform with the sprite manager?

other TYPO3 element browser windows work fine as they do not try to show 
the content of root. hints welcome.
