did you clear the temp_* files?
Maybe have a look at the BT on forge, I know there were already some  
(older) bug reports with isFrontendEditingActive().

As I have a similar problem (but I think not the same, couldn't really  
figure it out), which also results in an endless-loading page in Firefox,  
it would be cool to show the error message in case of an Error 5xx - for  
the case that a feeditadvanced developer reads this.
