[TYPO3-english] fe login session doesn't last

Hi,

I know this has been discussed and I've followed the instructions, but I 
just can't get the fe sessions last.

I have added this to the header, but no help:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" />

I have added this to the .htaccess file, but no help:
Header set X-UA-Compatible "IE=EmulateIE8"

I have installed/uninstalled ie8compatmode extension, no help.

NOTE: Choosing InPrivate browsing mode helps, but I guess the visitor 
can't be forced to change the browsing mode?

Someone also said Ajax is effecting on this. Is it possible to disable 
generally? Or could changing the config.doctype effect on this?

Any idea how to fix this is very much appreciated, thank you.
