[TYPO3-english] Advice for best download extension for ftp files ?

Hello,

 

I need some advice regarding a download page on Typo3 4.2.12.

I need to develop a download page of large patches (.exe files around 150Mb)
stored on a public ftp site hosted on same machine of Typo3 instance (files
accessible locally).

Before developing my own extension, I have seen that DAM has some download
plugin with categories, but I would need to add a link type as a media like
ftp://path....

Has anyone needed this kind of thing before? Is it possible to add some
virtual folders of the FTP site ?

Is there an extension to do so? What do you think about DAM for this?
