[TYPO3-english] 'NONE' keyword in showAccessRestrictedPages parameter

Hi, list.
Just want to make sure, that I'm understanding this parameter correctly.
As TSref says for "showAccessRestrictedPages": If the value is "NONE" the
link will not be changed and the site will perform page-not-found handling
when clicked (which can be used to capture the event and act accordingly of
course).
So, f.e. if I have access restricted page: example.com/protected.html, it
should appear as example.com/protected.html, when I set
showAccessRestrictedPages = NONE, right?
But I can see only domain name and nothing else: example.com/
However, if I put some id here (showAccessRestrictedPages = 22), the menu
link is generated correctly, using name of page with given id.
Did I misunderstand something or I'm doing something wrong?
